TWO women whose specialist company helps eczema sufferers are looking for a business angel to take them to the next stage of expansion.

Natalie Balmond and Weze McIntosh own Purepotions Skincare Ltd, which is based in New England House, New England Street, Brighton.

It is an established natural skincare company manufacturing and distributing unique formulas primarily for people with sensitive, dry, allergy prone skin and eczema.

The business started in a family kitchen when Natalie’s daughter was suffering from a chronic skin condition.

She developed her own natural product which changed her daughter’s life and subsequently the lives of thousands of others.

That was 15 years ago and Purepotions attracted interest from thousands of eczema sufferers and is now a recognised high street brand.

It sells its award-winning products into Boots, Holland and Barrett, Waitrose, QVC UK/Italy/Germany shopping channels and across health food stores and pharmacies in the UK and Ireland.

The product is also available on prescription.

Natalie, 50, said: “Purepotions has experienced ups and downs and the learning curve for us has been steep and challenging.

“One such challenge has been fast growth but that has caused its own problems due to working capital deficit.

“Whilst our presence on the high street and on QVC shopping channels has increased sales and the profile of the brand significantly, margins here are tighter and shelf space expensive.

“This is a business which helps thousands of people with their skin conditions every day and whose products are changing lives.

“Our customers rely on us as the only product that works for them.

“It is also a business that manufactures in house and offers flexible work and training opportunities to many Brighton based people.”

Now the pair are searching for new investment to fund the next level of growth

Weze, 40, said: “We are looking for a business angel with an empathy for what we do.

“We are still growing and this is a healthy problem but it is a problem.

“We are trusted by families, it’s safe for children and there are no side effects.

“This is an exciting opportunity for an investor.”
