A NEW lollipop man is keeping people safe near a busy building site.
Ben Caesar Ajani, who has lived in Brighton for more than 25 years, has just been recruited and is part-time lollipop man and part-time traffic marshal on the city’s Circus Street construction site.
He said: “It’s great helping people across the road and getting to know the people living around our site.
“They really appreciate it, so I get a lot of job satisfaction.”
Construction on Circus Street started this summer, managed by British contractors Henry.
A public private partnership between construction firm U+I and Brighton and Hove City Council will see the derelict, former fruit and vegetable market transformed into a thriving new quarter and cultural destination for the city.
Work is progressing fast and the majority of the buildings on the site will be complete in 2019.
