Reds boss has more than one score to settle with old boss
RICHIE BARKER has a score to settle with former boss Ronnie Moore tomorrow.
Crawley manager Barker played for four years under Moore at Rotherham and believes that period was one of the happiest of his career.
There is much respect between the pair but it was Moore who came out on top on both occasions last season, winning 5-2 at the Broadfield Stadium and 2-0 at Prenton Park.
And that is something Barker, 22 years Moore’s junior, is determined to put right.
Tranmere enjoyed a good season last year and led the table for a while before dropping away to finish 11th.
Barker said: “There has been a big tunaround in players. Jake Cassidy did really well for them at the beginning of the season and he has gone back to Wolves. I have to say I thought they were punching above their weight last year and I’m sure Ronnie will agree with that as well.
“They were one of the teams we didn’t pick up a point off last year. There were only two, them and Brentford.
“We probably deserved something out of both.”
