Adam El-Abd has urged Albion to step up their play-off push over the festive period.
The Seagulls are eighth going into Christmas after their disappointing 0-0 draw with Huddersfield.
But they have taken seven points from their last three games and El-Abd believes there are lots of encouraging signs.
The defender said: "The overall performance was generally good.
"Perhaps the first half was a little bit lethargic and it took us a while to get going possibly.
"In the second half I thought we really took the game to them and, on a different day, we would have taken it.
"It wasn’t to be but we will take the positives out of the game.
"We didn’t get beat. We are on an unbeaten run now and hopefully we take that into Boxing Day and have a good Christmas period."
Albion go to Charlton, where they have a good recent record, on Boxing Day.
El-Abd added: "You take our results there in the past few years with a pinch of salt.
"It's the Championship and every week you can never predict the score in any fixture really.
"We go up there trying to maintain the level of performance we have had recently, which has been quite high.
"If we do that we will be in with a shout of getting the points."
