Tomasz Kuszczak wants to finish Albion’s latest away test at Blackburn Rovers with a grin instead of a grimace.

The keeper and team-mate Bruno clashed in the Seagulls’ last away game a week ago when Sheffield Wednesday snatched a late winner.

Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat by Middlesbrough put a further dent in Albion’s challenge for the top six, leaving Kuszczak desperate to end the evening in Lancashire with a smile on his face.

Kuszczak said of his spat with right-back Bruno: “It was cleared up in the dressing room. Words were spoken and that’s it. From my side it definitely wasn’t about the mistake. I am never going to blame somebody for a mistake because I make mistakes too.

“One day you can be in the same position. It was about something else but you can definitely see the lads care about the result, myself and all the players.

“We get frustrated sometimes, especially when things happen in the last minute of a game you feel you should win.

“It’s good that we care because we want to achieve something here. I prefer more the smiling moments after the game and the good feeling when we win and feel we did a good job, especially away from home.”

Albion have won seven of their 18 outings away from the Amex. Kuszczak believes it should have been more.

He said: “There have been plenty of games this season where we’ve had a great chance to win away from home but haven’t scored enough or we’ve conceded in the last minute, like at Leeds for example in the first game of the season.

“Tonight we have another great opportunity to get some points and we definitely can - we have proved that enough this season. It’s always tough at Blackburn but now we have put ourselves in this position we have to clear the air and start to score points.”
