Fishing and crabbing, climbing rocks,
Making toast on an old tin box.
Swimming in rivers making shapes in the clouds.
You really did everything to make us proud.
Dancing and singing, old folklore
Manners respect and so much more,
Kind and loving, honest and true
You were a true gentleman to one and all.

Remembering so many things on this your special day
singing, drawing having fun ,country walks in the sun
saturdays was wrestling ,sundays to the park
no lay ins for us ,up with the lark.
Holidays in Devon,camping in the rain.
Tent up tent down such a laugh but never a pain.
Toast on the tin lid ,always tasted best.
staring at the stars ,until its time for rest.
Dartmoor walks and swimming in the rivers
sometimes they were really cold but you would cuddle us when we shiver
Fishing with our little rods or crabbing on the beach
All the towns and castles history ,you would try to teach.

I was often in your bad books but i really didnt care
because i knew when it was time for bed you always would be there.
Special songs you sang to us and stories you would tell
always entertained us picked us up when we fell.

When i was a teenager we drove each other mad,
I would always flout your rules and you were Mr Bad.
at times you wanted to kill me ,i know you told me so haha
and I just wanted to leave grow up, get out and go
And then as i grew older, I appreciated your rules
The horrid Mr bad became my mister cool
came to understand your funny little ways
We had so many happy laughing smiley days.
You were the wisest cleverest man a gentlemen through and through
and nothing will ever be the same now we are without you
So as you fly high across moors and sea please ALWAYS pop back to visit me.
