JEFFREY SALMON (Retired Newsagent/Patcham) Passed away peacefully on 7th April 2017, aged 87 at Upper Mead Care Home, Henfield. Dearest husband of Hazel, much loved dad of David and Judith, father-in-law of Sue and grandad of Greg and Kelly. Jeff will be sadly missed by family and friends. Funeral service to be held at Woodvale Crematorium, North Chapel, Lewes Road, Brighton on Friday, 28th April at 12 Noon. Family flowers only, donations if desired to 'Alzheimers Society' c/o Derriman & Haynes, 56 Ladies Mile Road, Brighton, BN1 8QF.

So sorry to learn of this. He was my boss and my mentor when I worked for him, as a paperboy and later in the shop. Long after I'd left he would still ask after me if my mum or dad went into the shop. He was a central part of the Patcham village retail community, worked unbelievably hard and long hours to build an outstanding business, and was, I think, well-liked by everyone (except perhaps the guy whose arrears I had to collect every week). My condolences to Hazel and the family.
