HUW DAVID TAYLOR Emeritus Professor of Microbial Ecology, University of Brighton. Formerly of Bishopston, Swansea. Huw died peacefully on Saturday 14th October 2017 aged 54 years, following a courageous battle against cancer. The beloved younger son of John and Enid Taylor, adored brother of Susan and the late Philip, and dear brother-in-law of Sian and Max, loving Uncle of Rhiannon, Christopher, Angharad, Matthew, Gareth and Owain, much loved lecturer, colleague and loyal friend to many, he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A true humanitarian whose scientific research in the field of waterborne disease and sanitation will continue to have far reaching benefits throughout the world. A funeral service will take place at Woodvale Crematorium, Lewes Road, Brighton BN2 3QB at 15.30 on 26th October 2017 and will be followed by a get together in The Open House, Brighton, BN1 6BZ Family flowers only please c/o The Co-operative Funeralcare, 44 Warren Road, Woodingdean, BN2 6BA Donations in lieu may be made to a fund set up in Huw's name, which aims to support young water and sanitation scientists. Thinking of Huw and his family and friends today, as we all say our final farewell to Huw. Unfortunately I can't be with you in person, other commitments, but I shall be thinking of you all, and the great times I spent with Huw, especially our time together at Cardiff University. "RIP Huge".
