BRIGHTON AND HOVE CITY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER -

1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will have the following effect:-



18 September 2017

Phase 1 - The Temporary Closure of North Street, from the junction of Queens Road to the junction of King Place

(a) The temporary closure of the following roads at their junctions with North Street and temporary suspension of their existing One-way Traffic Orders: Windsor Street and Portland Street



(b) The temporary suspension of the existing One-way Traffic Orders: Ship



Street from the junction with North Street to the junction with Duke Street, and Church Street from the junction with Windsor Street to the

junction with Portland Street

Phase 2 - The Temporary Closure of North Street, from the junction of King Place to the junction of Bond Street

(c) The temporary closure of the following roads at their junction with North Street, the temporary suspension of the No Right Turn Traffic



Orders and the temporary suspension of existing One-way Traffic

Orders: Windsor Street and Portland Street

(d) The temporary closure of Ship Street at the junction with North Street, during this closure, the temporary suspension of the existing One-way Traffic Orders: Ship Street from the junction with North Street to the



junction with Duke Street

(e) The temporary suspension of the existing One-way Traffic Order on Church Street from the junction with Windsor Street



to the junction with Portland Street

Phase 3 - The Temporary Closure of North Street, from the junction of Bond Street to the junction of East Street

(a) The temporary closure of New Road at its junction with North Street



(b) The temporary closure of Bond Street at the junction with North Street, and during this closure the temporary suspension of the existing



One-way Traffic Order on Bond Street

(c) The temporary suspension of the existing One-way Traffic Orders: Ship Street from the junction with North Street to the junction with Duke Street



For the entire duration of these works the following will be in force

(a) The temporary suspension of the No Right Turn Traffic Order from North



Street on to West Street for buses and taxis only

(b) The temporary closure of North Street at the junction with West Street and Queens Road



(c) The temporary suspension of the westbound Bus Lane between East



Street and Princes Place

(d) The temporary suspension of the prohibition of motor vehicles from



North Street into New Road

(e) The temporary suspension of the Bus, Taxis and Cycles only restriction on North Street



2. The Order is necessary to allow Southern Water's contractors to carry out remedial Reinstatement works



3. Pedestrian access will be maintained.



4. This Order comes into force on 18 September 2017 for



eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works

are completed. *
