BRIGHTON AND HOVE CITY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 198 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER - MONTPELIER ROAD, BRIGHTON

1.
NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will have the following effect:-

(a) The Temporary Closure of Montpelier Road from the junction of Sillwood Street to the junction of Kings Road, with access only maintained for residents, businesses and emergency services. A diversion for vehicular traffic will be via both Sillwood Street, Bedford Square, and Sillwood Street, Little Preston Street.

(b) The Temporary Northbound Closure of Montpelier Road from the junction of Western Road Northbound for a distance of approximately 15 metres, for the gas connection on Western Road. A diversion for
vehicular traffic will be via Western Road, Temple Street.

2.
The Order is necessary to allow contractors to carry out Gas Main Replacement works.

3.
Pedestrian access will be maintained.

4.
This Order comes into force on 15 January 2018 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed, works are anticipated to take 8 weeks.
