Awards Hat Trick For Harriers

November 22, 2000 9:56: Herne Hill Harriers volunteers have been recognised for the third year running after winning a highly commended award at the Volunteer Investment Programme (VIP) Awards presented at the Queens club, west London.

The awards are sponsored by Sport England and are open to all Clubs, governing bodies and associations throughout the country rewarding organisations who are recognised with good practice and appreciate, organise and utilise best their volunteers.

Club secretary Steve Bosley received the award from Sport Englands London Region Director Andy Such who said it was the first time a club had won the award three years in succession. The club is run by volunteers who organise teams, training and events and were praised for their continued successes in encouraging youngsters into athletics.
