Trish makes dream start

TRISH Easton scored twice on her debut as Wycombe Wanderers ladies kicked off their season with a 2-1 with at Thatcham.

The new-look Blues, featuring three new signings and a new back four dominated the first half but had to wait until the 40th minute to make the breakthrough.

Easton collected a loose ball before cutting inside and then despatching her shot under the keeper.

Thatcham began the second half strongly and only a brave save from stand-in keeper Paula Benson kept Wycombe in front. But the Blues gloves received a whack in the ribs for her troubles and had to be replaced by Amy Watters.

The Blues doubled their lead when Easton converted a penalty she had won her self.

Norwegian substitute Anna-Marie Moelland and Karyn Atkinson both had chances to extend the lead before Thatcham halved the deficit, but Wanderers held on for an opening-day win.
