TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER – FRANCIS STREET
BRIGHTON AND HOVE CITY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER – FRANCIS STREET 1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council have on the 1st. June 2012 made an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and has the following effect:- (a) Prohibit traffic in Francis Street from a point 5 metres west of its junction with Ditchling Road westwards to a point 8 metres east of its junction with London Road (b) Suspend the existing one-way traffic regulation order in Francis Street. 2. The Order is necessary to allow Contractors to safely construct adjacent flats and Market Development 3. Pedestrian access will be maintained on the southern footway. 4. This Order comes into force on Wednesday 6th. June 2012 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed which is programmed to be sixteen months. EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 The East Sussex (London to Brighton Bike Ride) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2012 On 17 June 2012, to enable Cycle Rides Limited on behalf of the British Heart Foundation to hold the London to Brighton Bike Ride, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 16 A to C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily bring into force the following Traffic Regulations:- Route to be followed No person shall cause or permit any vehicle that is not participating in, or connected with the London to Brighton Bike Ride to proceed in, exit from, or turn into any of the lengths of road specified below, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform or that of a uniformed marshal who will be responsible for regulating the traffic flow:- Temporary Road Closures – 17 June 2012 from 06:00 - 20:00 hrs B2112 Common Lane – from its junction with the B2113 Folders Lane roundabout, Ditchling, through Ditchling Village leading into and along the C203 Beacon Road/Ditchling Road, over Ditchling Beacon, to the C5060 junction with the C4500 Carden Avenue (Old Boat Corner), Brighton, or to exit onto the B2112 and C203 from the U5241 South View, Orchard Lane, Dumbrells Court, C656 East End Lane, U5651 Church Lane, B2116 West Street, B2116 Lewes Road, B2112 Clayton Road, U5652 Nevill Cottages, U5682 Long Park Corner, and U5240 Underhill Lane (West and East). ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: via C4500 Carden Avenue, Brighton & Hove Bypass, A23(T) London Road, A273 Clayton Hill, B2112 New Road, C306 Lodge Lane, B2116 Keymer Road, C306 Ockley Lane/Keymer Road and the B2113 Folders Lane, in both directions. C6 Green Road, Wivelsfield – closed at its junction of the B2112 at the mini roundabout. Northbound traffic on the B2112 Ditchling Road/Fox Hill will be diverted via the C322 North Common Road, B2183 Beggars Wood Road then onto the A272. Southbound vehicles will be directed via C6 South Road, C71 St Helena Lane and C71 Folders Lane East. Temporary One-Way Traffic Southbound Only B2112 Foxhill/Ditchling Road (locally known as Luncies Hill) – closed to northbound traffic from the border with West Sussex, south to the Folders Lane Roundabout. Northbound traffic will be diverted via the A273 Brighton Road, A273 London Road, A273 Issac Lane, then onto the A272. Temporary Prescribed Route Folders Lane roundabout junction with the B2113 – prohibited left and right turn – ahead only. ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: eastbound traffic heading north on the B2112 will be diverted via Keymer Road, and then north on the A273 Brighton Road; westbound traffic heading north on the B2112 will be diverted via Folders Lane, south along Keymer Road, Ockley Lane, Keymer Road west to the A273 to the A272. Vehicles travelling north on Streat Lane will be diverted via St. Helena Lane, South Road, North Common Road, Beggars Wood Road and the A272. Vehicles travelling north on Plumpton Lane/Station Road will be diverted via South Road and North Common Road. Temporary Prohibition of Waiting – 06:00 - 20:00 hrs B2116 Lewes Road, Ditchling – south side: from the termination point of the No Waiting “At Any Time” restrictions at the eastern boundary of No.2 Lewes Road, eastwards to a point outside of Hob Cottage opposite the entrance to The Bull car park, a distance of 19 metres.
