Brighton to Paris

Brighton to Paris

Round off the Summer of 2009 by taking part in the Argus Appeal’s exciting Brighton to Paris cycle challenge.

All roads lead to the Eiffel Tower and the heart of Paris as we embark on this popular Brighton to Paris Challenge over two days, via a NEW route!

Last year both our cycle challenges raised a fantastic £80,000 for the Argus Appeal. All administration costs are covered by the Argus Newspaper and Legal & General, therefore you can be assured that every penny raised goes directly to charity, unlike so many other charities.

This is our fifth year of running the Brighton to Paris Challenge and we are confident that you will have fun and make new friends: What a great opportunity to set yourself a fitness target for the end of the summer 2009 and is there a more rewarding way of arriving in the capital of France?

But hurry - we are limiting the numbers of this years ride.

Day 1: Friday, September 4th, 2009
Leave Brighton, first thing to cycle the short distance to Newhaven and board the 9.30a.m. sailing to Dieppe and a 45 mile cycle to our overnight stay in Gournay-en-Bray.

L’Avenue Verte is a cyclists' dream - relax and take it easy in the Normandy countryside. This safe route to Gournay-en-Bray means you can meander in groups with no motor vehicles to hinder your progress. It is also kind on the legs - no hills! We pick up the L’Avenue Verte just south of Dieppe and follow it for 37miles all the way to Forges-Les-Eaux and then onto the comfortable cycle friendly hotel in the sleepy town of Gournay-en-Bray where we can relax and enjoy dinner.

Day 2: Saturday, September 5th, 2009
Gournay-en-Bray to Paris(72 miles)

Today we pick our way through country roads and parks and make our way to our hotel in central Paris, located close to the Eiffel Tower. The evening gives us another opportunity to enjoy dinner together.
