Father Christmas made
an early visit to The Argus
offices to train his helpers
for the launch of The Argus
Appeal's Christmas Grotto.
Stand-in Santas lined up for
inspection outside Argus
House in Hollingbury,
Brighton, as the real Father
Christmas put them through
their paces for the opening
of the grotto at Churchill
Square Shopping Centre
on November 24.
Elsa Gillio, co-ordinator of
The Argus Appeal, said: "We
only employ the best Santas
for our grotto and we make
sure they are all trained up
ready for the big launch.
"Every penny made from the
grotto this Christmas will be
going straight back into the
community through The
Argus Appeal."
This year The Argus Appeal
is celebrating its 50th
anniversary, raising money
for good causes throughout
Sussex.
Running costs of the charity
are paid for by The Argus.
