Is there a better way of setting yourself a fitness goal for the summer of 2010 than by taking part in an Argus Appeal charity cycle challenge?

Enjoy the exhilaration of off-road cycling and the unique experience of cycling the entire South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne, fully supported.

Alternatively, if off-road cycling is not your bag, imagine cycling in the sunshine through the Normandy countryside en-route to Paris via the Avenue Verte.

We promise that every penny you raise via our sponsored cycle challenges goes to those who need it most. That's what makes an Argus Appeal charity bike ride unique and is made possible by the generosity and support given by our sponsors Legal & General, enabling us to make our cycle rides 100% charity events.

Now in its eighth year, the South Downs Way Challenge has raised over a quarter million pounds for local charities. This year's event takes place on the 7th, 8th and 9th May, 2010. The event covers the entire South Downs Way and all food, transportation and camping is included in the registration fee of £75*.

If your idea of cycling is meandering along quiet French roads, why not take part in our Brighton to Paris challenge? This popular event includes four nights B&B accommodation, all transportation costs, checkpoint food, route maps, experienced cycle guides, two evening meals and a return journey home via Eurostar and coach back to Brighton. Registration in advance is £300* and the event takes place on July 28th, 2010.

For further information check out the cycle challenges tab on this website for an application form, sponsorship form and some frequently asked questions. *Minimum sponsorship applies to both events. Alternatively email southdowns@theargus.co.uk or brightontoparis@theargus.co.uk for further details.
