Sixty intrepid cyclists are on their way from Brighton to Paris to raise money for The Argus Appeal.

The team set up from Madeira Drive yesterday morning (August 29) and expect to reach their destination in three days.

Among those taking part is the general manager of the Brighton Hilton Metropole, Guy Hilton.

Argus Appeal co-ordinator Elsa Gillio said: “We are very grateful for all those who have signed up to take part and wish them well on their trip.

“All money raised will go towards supporting good causes in Sussex.”

Organisers are hoping to raise around £20,000 from this year’s event.

The first Brighton to Paris bike ride was in 2005.
