By Karen Macmillan - More to life
My first ever tweet back in October 2009 - "Nursing the flu and wondering how to escape the treadmill"
This week, once again nursing the flu, seemed a good opportunity to review the year and take stock.
After over a year as General Manager for a theatre company, I start a new job for an art gallery in the new year. If all goes well I'll also have a freelance job, working mostly from home, sometimes in London. Fulfilling Work monthly events continue and we'll develop other strands to the theme. All in all, it's a long way from the life I used to lead, the treadmill life of commuting and sitting in a corporate office working long hours and wondering how to get my life back on track.
I have more time, more variety, more control, more fun (and less money)!
The fabled work/life balance is becoming a reality. It's not always easy but I'm much closer to leading a work life that's satisfying and stimulating and allows me the freedom to explore different strands of interest.
Wishing you all a happy Christmas and a peaceful fulfilling 2012!
Karen
