Alright, so its not a massively fashion orientated start to the new year, but I was utterly shocked to see the pictures of the young girls in The Daily Mail this morning (take a look at the url if you dare http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1242198/Youre-going-dressed-like-Snow-joke-did-.html).

I'm feeling festive. We've just had our office party, my advent calendar only has only got ten more doors left to open (in truth it maybe a few less than that due to a chocolate-frenzy on Friday) and i've started wrapping my Christmas presents. So what better time to have a little look at the festive fashion in all the stores at the moment....

I heart fancy dress. I love any excuse to dress up and pretend to be a superhero, animal or cartoon character, so naturally one of the things that makes the party season we are now in so special for me is the fact that everyone really goes to town with their themed costumes.

....these shoes (pictured) by British designer Alexander McQueen. The crystal-studded 12-inch platform shoes were part of a collection at LFW, inspired by Charles Darwin's The Origin Of The Species.

Tonight Brighton's newest model agency BM Models glamourously launches itself into the East Sussex fashion market with a VIP evening at TABLE from 7pm. My Jenny Packham dress is freshly back from the dry cleaners and my black peep-toes have just been re-heeled (the shoe-guy next to Waitrose on Western Road is a magician) so I do believe I'm all set to go canapé hunting.

I have a bit of a thing for shoes made by a company called United Nude -- particularly their Eamz design (see pic).

Last night I went along to the Gang Up magazine launch party at The Old Music Library opposite the Mash Tun on Church Street - the perfect place to have a 'do' such as this, I might add.

As summer brings with it a deluge of music festivals, half the fun is getting fully involved with the 'festival fashion'. As much as die-hard festival goers would love to protest this, with a traditional view that music festivals are purely about the bands, the performance and the undoubted love of music, it's undeniable that since Kate Moss stepped through the gates of Glastonbury in her hotpant, waistcoat and welly combo two summers ago, that she turned standing in a muddy field into a fashion event. Jeans and a t-shirt just ain't gonna cut it these days.

This Thursday coming sees local designer Ailsa Rollo hold a private viewing of her latest collection at Madam Geisha over a glass of champagne.

She's been listed as one to watch in 2009 by Vogue and she's invited me to her launch party in Brighton next Wednesday, so naturally I wanted to find out a little bit more about vintage fashion addict and local lady Natasha Bailie.

For those of you who get fairly annoyed with battling through Churchill Square in order to get your weekly fix of H&M goodies, you'll be relieved to know that a new, bigger store will be opening on (181-185) Western Road this week on Thursday.

The Montpelier area in Brighton is just lovely, so when I saw an equally lovely lady stepping into her house on Thursday evening, I just had to nab her for a quick piccy.

Right guys and dolls, I'm now armed with a camera and i'm not afraid to use it. As the sun has officially come out in Brighton (hopefully for the next few weeks and months), i'll be on the prowl for some ultra-cool, chic and sexy outfits, as modelled by - you.

The Brighton Frocks theatrical catwalk show this weekend went without a hitch and if you were there in the audience on Friday night, I sincerely hope that you had a good time; I came away buzzing from the whole experience. It's actually hard to believe that something that took so many months to put together is finally over.
