This week we hit the streets to find out how real women are working this season's smouldering shoulders...

Ellie: I can't believe I've chosen something purple again. But this is a great dress. Leanne does the shoulder trend brilliantly with one 'big' statement shoulder and one bare shoulder in this River Island number at my friend's wedding.

Emma: Gemma picked up this pretty blue dress from Primark after spying her friend’s version in red. Paired with black tights and vintage tan accessories, she’s managed to carry off a high-fashion look in a beautifully understated way. Add on the gold buttons and she’s nailed nautical and statement shoulders in one go. Top notch.

Sarah: Sam sent us this picture of her modelling a River Island jacket. We love this jacket as it is one of those pieces that can go with practically everything. Black and sophisticated it is bound to make any outfit look classy. With its added quirky touches of vintage buttons and statement shoulders, this military jacket is bang on trend for this winter.
