Hotels and bed and breakfasts across Brighton and Hove are experiencing an early season boost as thousands of people flock to the city for the Brighton Marathon.

Many are fully booked while rooms are being snapped up fast at others as race day approaches.

Sunday's marathon is expected to boost the city's economy by more than £5 million with more than 100,000 people due to visit this weekend.

Justin Taylor, front office manager at the Landsdowne Place Hotel in Lansdowne Place, Brighton, said the hotel was fully booked.

Esther Scire, a receptionist at the Kings Hotel on Brighton seafront, said: “We are very busy this weekend.

“The marathon is a real draw and it has shown in the rise in bookings we have had.”

Gulliver's Guest House and the New Steine Hotel in Brighton are also fully booked for the weekend.
