Aly Dixon smashed the course record by over half an hour to win the women's race at the Brighton Marathon.

Dixon slashed eight minutes off her personal best as she stormed to victory in 2hr.34min.51sec to overshadow Jo Bryce's time of 3hr.4min.55sec last year.

Lucy MacAlister was well adrift in second in 2hr.40min.34sec followed by Julie Briscoe in 2hr.41min.09sec.
