With the never-ending drizzle, you may find yourself forgetting how beautiful our city really is.

Our prescribed remedy for this is the North Laine Photography Group’s Brighton Experience exhibition.

The Fringe show features some of the most beautiful shots of Brighton and Hove along with some spine-tingling short films.

Images on display at Churchill Square include everything from fire ripping through the West Pier to a naughty seagull terrorising tourists.

You may recognise some of the shots as many have appeared in local and national newspapers – including a number from The Argus’s own Simon Dack.

Nigel Swallow from the group, said: “We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to put on a show in such a busy location, and thousands have already passed through the doors.”

Also on show are a series of short films playing on loop, including Caleb Yule’s ‘This Is Brighton’.

But the highlight is the area’s wishing tree. Designed by Emma Sandham King, visitors are asked to write a wish on a piece of paper before hanging it on one of the tree’s branches.

The entries range from the funny: “I wish my cat would stop begging for food at 2am” to the cute: “I wish I could see real dinosaurs,” to the heartbreaking “I wish that I get to see my brother again when I die, Ellie” and “I wish my cancer would go away”.

The free exhibition runs until May 27.
