How To Survive A Zombie Apocalypse, Komedia Studio Bar, Gardner Street, Brighton, May 3
According to last year's University Of Ottawa study, should a zombie apocalypse ever occur mankind would be wiped out within ten weeks.
Fortunately with the help of Dr Dale and his crack team of zombie experts - plus the gormless work experience boy Tristan - about 90 people may be able to up the odds against the undead.
The hour-and-a-quarter seminar took the audience through everything from the basic rules of zombies to how to pick out the best safehouse to ride out the virus outbreak.
The good doctor (who judging by his accent came from somewhere in North America - although it was hard to pinpoint the location) was assisted by Tristan, the icily efficient scientist Judy and ageing, slightly maudlin, survival expert Donald in a mix of roleplay and lecture, taking inspiration from audience suggestions.
Along the way the audience learned the best way to turn an Alsatian into a weapon (freeze it), that the vegan dead are the easiest to dispatch, and that The Sloth is one of the deadliest fighting moves to use against zombies in a flowing river.
As a show it was perfect for zombie freaks, with plenty of chances to ask questions about undead situations and revel in the rules of the ever-popular horror genre.
And as an exercise in improv it fitted a surprising amount into what felt like a very short time...
The only shame was that it tailed off with an extended monologue section, rather than an appropriately apocalyptic bang.
