Work has begun on transforming a major venue.
Jon Barrenechea, the boss at the Duke of York’s Picturehouse, said plans are on course for the new venue in Gardner Street, Brighton.
The two new screens at the Komedia arts venue will have 144 and 97 seats.
Duke’s At Komedia will feature a café and bar and is due to open in December.
Mr Barrenechea said the grand opening will include a preview of the adaptation of The Life of Pi starring, Gérard Depardieu and directed by Ang Lee.
He said: “All is going well on the work and, knock on wood, we will be ready for the grand opening to the public on December 7.”
