More than 200 businesses took part in an adventure at this year’s ultimate business event, the Brighton Summit.

Organised by the Brighton and Hove Chamber of Commerce, the theme was “Come on an Adventure” with host Steve Bustin arriving in billy cans, jungle hat, map and compass.

The topic ran throughout the day with keynote speaker Rob Forkan from Gandys Flip Flops explaining how he and his brother formed a successful business out of the tragedy of losing their parents in the Sri Lankan tsunami and how they transformed their lives and those of the rest of their family.

There were sessions to share challenges and ideas as well as a 'Dare Hour' where delegates were asked to face their fears – for example handling a snake, drawing a naked life model or singing in a choir.

'Un-conference' sessions followed a networking lunch, which included speakers on storytelling in business, digital marketing, business videos and strategy development.

Chamber director Sarah Springford said: “We were absolutely delighted with the turn-out, delegates were mostly business owners and managers.

"There was a really positive vibe again and the finale of the day was a fantastic performance by the Maydays improvisation group at Emporium .

"Having the event on a Friday certainly gets the weekend off to a splendid start!”
