A JOURNALISM training centre is launching a new industry-accredited course.
Brighton Journalist Works is the first college in the UK to teach an NCTJ-accredited Introduction to Journalism qualification.
The 20-week course will be taught by experienced journalist and tutor Caroline Sutton who has worked for The Mirror, Channel 4 and The Argus.
Caroline said: “This will be an exciting course for anyone who wants to learn the basics of good journalism.
“Learners will be expected to find stories, conduct interviews and write strong news articles.
“Those skills will help lots of people, whether they want to work in the media, PR or simply produce a fantastic blog or website.”
It will run at The Friends Centre, Brighton Junction site, near Brighton station on Wednesday evenings from 6.30 to 9pm.
The level 3 certificate is assessed by logbook and portfolio with learners awarded certificates for modules as they progress.
Each ten-week term costs £375 plus assessment fees. The course starts on October 1, and continues on January 22.
