The Sussex Business Awards have received a 10% increase in entries for the fourth year running.

Judging of about 100 businesses for 16 trophies is now underway.

The final decisions will be made at a judge’s meeting under the chairmanship of Mike Herd, executive director of Sussex Innovation Centre. Companies with a vested interest in an applicant will declare their partisanship and leave the room.

Judges will have scored entries and carried out interviews with their personal shortlist. All entrants are emailed after the judges’ meeting on October 17 and the shortlist will be announced in The Argus on October 28.

The awards ceremony will take place on December 10 at The Grand Hotel, Brighton, and will be attended by more than 500 of the county’s leading business people.

Tickets cost £90 each plus VAT or £850 plus VAT for a table of ten.

This includes a champagne reception, three course meal, and two bottles of wine on each table, as well as entertainment, dancing and a few surprises.
