A PAIR of TV entrepreneurs are eagerly awaiting broadcast of their new show The Dog Hotel tonight.

The ten-part entertainment ‘dogumentary’ about a luxury hotel for canines in Shoreham starts on Watch Channel tonight at 8pm.

It is already syndicated in several countries and producers Julie Heathcote and Lisa Fairbank, of Factory Films, hope it could put their company and Brighton on the map.

The programme follows doggy devotees Matt and Leon as they open a new Hollywood-style pooch paradise, and also features tough-talking self-made millionaire Gina Citroni, chief executive of industrial IT firm Amplicon.

Factory Films was started from a garage two years ago and has now expanded into two, with a goal to attract the city’s TV talent that journeys up to London every day.

The company directors have both had successful careers working on top TV programming.

Factory Films has been dabbling in online programming and wants to bridge the gap between Brighton creative, digital and tech industries.

Lisa explained: “There’s a lot of Brighton-based talent but they end up going to London for work.

“There’s a huge pool of talent with the university graduates staying on and people moving down from London.

“But it can be quite fragmented, with lots of individuals doing amazing things, so its part of our ambition to bring them all together.

“We would like to see more synergy between new media, tech and the whole Silicon Beach phenomenon and the city’s content makers.

“We’re a small city punching above our weight in terms of creativity, and I think that will put us on the map.”
