A MOTHER-of-three who overcame cancer twice has been inspired to open a beauty salon.

Caroline Botterill, 34, from Dart Close, Worthing, celebrated 18 months in remission with the opening of her new shop Sparkle Hair and Nails in Shoreham at the weekend.

She was first diagnosed in November 2012 and again in March 2013 and had extensive surgery at St Thomas Hospital in London.

The fully qualified hair stylist has previously run her own mobile business but is now ready to go to the next level.

She plans to support cancer sufferers with pampering days at the salon.

Caroline said: “Being diagnosed with cancer once is devastating, but being diagnosed twice is life changing.

“I feel I have been given an amazing opportunity to give back to society.”

Caroline was diagnosed with anal cancer which was caused by the HPV virus which is linked to cervical cancer.

She had to endure surgery, 29 staples in her abdomen and was in the high dependancy unit for two days.

Following her ordeal Caroline fundraises for Macmillan Nurses.

Sparkle Hair and Nails had its launch party on Saturday with young model and performer Ella Collins-Godden from Brighton opening the salon.

On the night 10% of bookings and purchases were donated to Macmillan.
