FOOD lovers will hope they don’t flop when they attempt a world record attempt.

Brighton seafront restaurant The Creperie is inviting passers-by to make their bid for notoriety by hosting a world record breaking attempt of pancake tosses in one minute.

Participants will have to be quick on the flip to break the current record held by Australian celebrity chef Brad Jolly who completed 140 flips in 60 seconds in 2012.

Tomorrow’s event, to mark Shrove Tuesday, will take place at the Ship Street restaurant from 10am until 10pm and each pancake flip session will be timed and noted by owner Pete Bradford.

The restaurant opened last year on Shrove Tuesday.

Mr Bradford said: “We are asking as many people to get involved as possible to help break this record, each person who takes part and buys a crepe at The Creperie will get a complimentary pancake next time they visit us at the Creperie”.
