A Shakespeare-inspired inn made up of snug caves will be the latest addition to Brighton’s seafront.
The Tempest Inn will take up the site of the former LIFE club on the ramp off King’s Road.
It is the latest opening for the Laine Pub Company, formerly Drink in Brighton, which also owns neighbouring Jamaican-themed Riki Tik Beach Bar and The Fortune Of War.
The Tempest has a warren of caves to get lost in, “like smugglers hiding their contraband or sailors sheltering from a storm”.
There are also more than a dozen intimate and private snugs spaces for up to seven fellow explorers.
The Ariel Bar upstairs boasts one of the best views in the city, while there will be a covered all-weather patio at the front.
In-house Brighton brewery Laine’s will provide beer alongside other Sussex brewers.
Food will come from The Flourpot Bakery, The Cheese Man and an experienced chef.
The Tempest Inn will open on Thursday, March 19.
