MORE than 125 years of retail history could be lost if plans to convert a small shop into housing gets the go ahead.
Local property owners Mr and Mrs I Boyle have applied for permission to change the use of a small shop on the corner of Islingword Road and Grant Street in Brighton into a house.
The shop dates from the Victorian age and was for a long time a greengrocers and was last used by Brighton-based firm Electric Motor Rewinds.
The applicant proposes to convert the small two-storey shop into a three-bed maisonette with living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor and two bedrooms on the lower ground floor.
