Brighton and Hove Chamber of Commerce has highlighted the benefits to business of interns and apprentices.
Business support navigator Laura Evans told The Argus that using an intern or apprentice for a fixed period, a particular project or a placement was a low-risk approach.
She said: “There are a few things to consider before going down this route. Are you willing to employ at the end of the placement? That doesn’t always mean full-time as some schemes will still provide if you can employ part-time after the placement.”
She also suggested programmes such as the University of Sussex First-Generation Scholars’ Summer Internship Programme or the SINC Catalyst scheme where you pay by the hour for interns.
In addition, Creative Process are running a Generation Digital Apprentice Showcase event on Thursday, April 23.
The event is geared towards finding out what a digital apprentice can do for your business.
