THE SCALE of the viewing tower that will soon dominate Brighton’s seafront view is starting to take shape.
Workers on the i360’s jacking rig show just how big the viewing tower already is.
The third phase of construction on the tower is now ready to go ahead.
The first four out of 17 steel cans which will make up the tower have all been lifted and fixed into position. The jacking tower is also now in position.
The next barge – carrying the remaining steel cans – should arrive off the beach near the building site between 2.30am and 3am tomorrow morning.
Eleanor Harris, the i360s’ chief executive, said: “It is exciting to see the i360 taking shape so quickly.
“All the planning has paid off and the team is making great progress. We are already ahead of schedule and on track to complete the tower by September.”
