THOUSANDS of frustrated commuters are calling for a rail franchise to be taken away from a transport company.

A Parliamentary petition calling for the removal of the rail franchise from South Eastern has attracted more than 7,000 signatures with petition organisers claiming customers are consistently let down by the firm.

The franchise serves several East Sussex towns and villages including St Leonards, Hastings and Rye.
