“EVERYONE is hiring” – that is the message to jobseekers ahead of a jobs fair later this week.

The recruitment sector is thriving with a whole range of jobs available across the city region, according to Brian Warren, of Quick HR.

He was speaking ahead of The Argus Jobs Fair on Thursday which is expected to attract more than 1,000 people.

Mr Warren said: “Everyone’s hiring, especially in the digital industry.

“We’ve seen a lot more recruitment compared to previous years and it’s across all industries.

“Some of it is predictable with tourism and other seasonal work, but lots of other sectors are doing very well.

“There’s lots of admin jobs and it’s a great time for people looking for part-time work around childcare.

“Marketing and communications is always the first to get hammered in the economic downturn and that’s also making a real resurgence."

The Argus Jobs Fair aims to provide a link between training organisations, employers and employees.

Attendees will get the chance to meet prospective employers face to face and apply for jobs in person, enhance their profile and increase their chances of being hired and better their career opportunities.

Exhibitors include YMCA, Agincare, Arundel Care, BACA, Brighton & Hove Council, Chailey Heritage Foundation, Crunch Accounting, Hove College, The Job Centre, Lingfield Park, McDonalds, Mears Care, Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, Plumpton College, The University of Sussex, The Army and The Argus.

One of the city’s leading digital businesses Crunch is looking for client managers, accountants and developers.

And YMCA Training will be offering apprenticeships in childcare, health and social care, supporting teaching and learning, business administration and customer service.

A spokesperson for YMCA Training said: “You'll meet new people, learn new skills and gain new qualifications. It means working for an employer and discovering things about yourself that you never knew before.

“It doesn't matter if this is your first time working in your chosen environment, or whether you want to build on experience you already have.

“As an apprentice, you work closely with professionals who give you the support you need to do your job properly and progress.”
