BRIGHTON and Hove Albion supporters are more satisfied with their matchday experience than any other set of fans across the three English Football League divisions.

That is according to a survey carried out by league officials.

The average satisfaction rating of those who attend the American Express Community Stadium was 7.8 out of ten compared to 6.5 nationally.

In addition Albion's matchday satisfaction score of +54 was the highest across all clubs.

A total of 646 fans responded to the national survey, which was run by the league.

Fans surveyed felt the top three areas Albion had improved on the matchday experience were transport to and from the stadium, bars and catering, and WiFi connectivity inside the Amex.

The highest-rated element of the matchday experience was the stadium's seating, with respondents reporting excellent leg room, padded seats and good sight-lines from all stands.

The seating was rated as very good or higher by 93 per cent of those who responded.

Albion's chief executive Paul Barber said, "We are very pleased with the results, as the club makes a big effort to ensure people enjoy their whole matchday experience.

"There can be no room for complacency and there will always be room for improvement, but overall we are very pleased to hear that fans feel that our staff are getting many things right off the pitch.

"It's our aim to continue to strive for excellence in all areas, as we want to retain our position as the best matchday experience in the EFL, if not the entire country."

The Amex opened in the summer of 2011 after many years of planning and legal battles.

It is regarded as one of the finest modern grounds in England and as well as football has hosted music concerts and last year's Rugby World Cup.

Designed by KSS Design Group it cost £93 million to build.
