FORMER Big Brother star Pete Bennett has swapped TV for a mop and bucket and reinvented himself as a celebrity cleaner.
The 34-year-old from Brighton, who suffers from Tourette’s, won the show in 2006 but in recent years has suffered several highs and lows.
In his latest venture, Celebriclean, Pete is offering his services for £100 an hour to clean people’s homes and offices.
He said: “I came up with the idea because I was working as a cleaner and when I turned up people were recognising me and asking for pictures and selfies and wanting to have a chat.
“That’s when I decided to set up my own business and calling it Celebriclean.
“It’s really taken off. As soon as I put the announcement on Facebook I had loads of people getting in contact wanting to know when I could come round.
“It’s a fun way to get a cleaner in but it’s not just about who I am. I actually will do the job and I’m good at doing it.”
Pete is hoping to expand the service in the future to bring in other celebrities who have been on TV and may be struggling to earn a living.
He said: “It can be difficult when you have been through that and then get back on your feet and get jobs afterwards.
“This can give people another chance. If this takes off it will be more work than we can handle.”
In a message on Celebriclean’s new Facebook page, Pete said: “I am proud to announce that I’ve started my new cleaning business.
“So, If you need your place spotless, gizza call, I’m your man. Selfies and fun included.”
Pete, 34, charmed the nation with his eccentric nature and quirky personality on Big Brother and also enjoyed a brief relationship with fellow housemate Nikki Grahame.
However, last year he appeared on the Jeremy Kyle Show where he revealed he was homeless after becoming hooked on the drug ketamine.
