THE corporate team at DMH Stallard has been nominated seven times in four categories in the prestigious Insider South East Dealmakers Awards.

Jonathan Grant, head of the firm’s corporate department, and Abigail Owen, a partner in the corporate department, have been shortlisted for corporate lawyer of the year.

DMH Stallard is also nominated in the corporate law firm of the year category for deals under £10 million and for deals over £10 million.

The deals in the under £10 million category include the sale of Carylon Green, E-zec’s acquisition of part of NSL Ltd and the sale of Brighton Sheet Metal to BREAL Capital, while the sale of the Brightwave Group to Capita accounts for the nomination in transactions over £10 million award.

Jonathan said: “It’s been a busy year with some larger deals in the first half and a big increase in mid-market deals and management buy-outs in the second half.

“With Brexit uncertainties in the background experience is needed to deliver deals successfully.

“To receive this recognition is always a humbling experience and one that is only possible thanks to the diligence and expertise of all my colleagues and the clients and other professionals we work with.

“I am grateful to all of them.”

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the Copthorne Hotel, Effingham Park, near Gatwick, on February 2.

Jonathan was named corporate lawyer of the year in 2015 and under his leadership DMH Stallard won corporate law firm of the year in 2012, 2014 and 2016, and also scooped Deal of the Year for transactions under £10 million in 2016.
