THE Argus is staging a Job Fair on Thursday, April 6, at the Brighton Dome.

It is part of the newspaper’s ongoing commitment to playing a central role in our thriving city.

The fair will be open from 12 noon until 5pm and thousands of people are expected to attend.

It aims to provide a link between training organisations, employers and employees.

Visitors will get the chance to meet prospective employers face to face and apply for jobs in person, enhance their profile, increase their chances of being hired and better their career opportunities.

Group editor Andy Parkes said the fair was crucial for young people who are looking at securing their next step in employment.

He said: “After the success of our two job fairs last year we have decided to stage another early in the year.

“It is at a time when thousands of people in the city will be planning the next stage of their life.

“It may be training, it may be their first job or indeed it may be time for some to find a new position.

“Whatever the case may be, The Argus Job Fair is here for you and we are confident it will be very well supported.”

Brighton and Hove’s economy is strong at present despite concerns and uncertainty pre-Brexit.

The digital industry is expanding rapidly and more start-ups are opening all over the city.

Phil Jones, from Wired Sussex, said: “I think the digital picture in Brighton and Hove is now equally as important as tourism.

“I think they go hand in hand.

“Talented people come to Brighton and stay here because of the quality of life.

“We attract the talent and we retain the talent and that has helped us gain this fantastic reputation.”

Now is the time for local businesses to sign up and have a stand at the fair.

Mr Parkes said: “With our combined print and online audiences, this is the perfect platform for companies to reach the people they need, and indeed want to.

“This is the power of The Argus – our newspapers and our online websites.”
