DIVAS have belted out their last anthem at a renowned gay venue.
Poison Ivy in St James’s Street, Brighton, closed its doors for the final time on Sunday night after an epic seven-hour closing party.
The self-titled “bustling gay party bar” was famed for its live karaoke nights and for its lavish Christmas decorations using 50,000 fairy lights.
A host of the city’s finest karaoke queens helped the venue go out in style, including Electric Blue, Candi Rell and Linda Bacardi.
By the next day, the work on stripping away the shop front was well under way with little evidence of its previous incarnation left.
Manager Lee Cockshott told fans of the venue on social media he was working on a new project and customers should “watch this space”.
