KNILL James Chartered Accountants has been supporting the Brighton University Business School.

Technical director Mark Filsell presented an award for “The Prize for the best final year Student in BSc (Hons) for Accounting and Finance” at the business school awards.

Senior lecturer Sandra Holmes accepted the award on behalf of Dhuvri Desai who was unable to attend.

The ceremony was attended by university staff, alumni, key sponsors, students and their friends and family.

It was held at the Sallis Benney Theatre, Grand Parade Brighton.

Mr Filsell said: “We are very proud to continue to support the Brighton University Business School where we provide a number of prizes to outstanding undergraduates within the finance, tax and accountancy courses.

“Knill James fully nurture upcoming talent in this specialist sector and support students to realise their career aspiration through our trainee and work experience programmes.”

Knill James is a leading accountancy firm based in Lewes which has been trading for 127 years, providing services to businesses in the Brighton, Lewes and Gatwick Diamond area, and across the South East.

The firm has six partners and more than 60 staff.

The company was formed by Mr H H Knill in 1887 in London, moving to East Sussex a few years later, and has remained local since then.
