UNIVERSITY of Brighton Masters graduate Amy Kennedy has been shortlisted for a national award for her work researching the impact of land ownership on housing delivery in Brighton.

Amy, awarded a MSc Town Planning with Distinction from the university earlier this year, is a finalist in the 2017 Royal Town Planning Institute’s awards for research excellence, Student Award category.

Amy, working as an assistant planner with Deloitte Real Estate in Manchester, praised the university’s Andrew Coleman and Dr Helen Walker, senior lecturers in the university’s School of Architecture and Design.

She said: “I’m absolutely over the moon to have made the shortlist and it’s thanks in no small part to Helen and Andrew for supporting me for this prestigious award.”

Mr Coleman said: “Amy’s shortlisting recognises the important contribution that our students can make to understanding issues like the City’s housing crisis.”

Winners will be announced at the 2017 UK-Ireland Planning Research Conference.
