You’ve heard of moon walking, well, now try the Martlets Midnight Walk.

Open to ladies only, you and your friends can dress up and enjoy a girls’ night out with a difference. Not only that, you’ll also be helping a charity.

Starting at midnight on Friday, June 17 at Brighton Racecourse, the route takes you for 13 miles around Brighton as you’ve never seen it before.

This is not a race so you can take as long as you like, treating it as a fun stroll with your mates, chatting as you go. At the end of the walk, you’ll be rewarded with a delicious and much needed breakfast, with unlimited tea and coffee on offer.

This is the fifth year that the Martlets has organised this fun event and more than a thousand women take part each time. In total, the walks have raised more than £635,000 and we want to make this year bigger and better than ever.

To take part, simply pay an entry fee of £12 and then try to raise as much sponsorship money from your friends and family as you can. If you think that 13 miles is beyond you, take heart from the fact that we send out a training plan to everyone who enters, along with details of the route, so you’ll be able to build up your strength gradually and safely. Ladies of all ages, shapes and sizes take part so you’ll be in excellent company.

One regular Midnight Walker, Donna James says: “It’s such a buzz when you finish and know that you have done something to help such a great place. The people that need Martlets are coming to the end of their lives and it’s only right I give just one night a year to help out. It’s the only place I can think of where you can have a girls’ night out, Have breakfast, get fit, have a good laugh and do your bit for a great charity, all for the grand total of £12!”
