A NEW restaurant which aims to reflect the eccentricity of Brighton has opened.

Oddsocks Bar & Kitchen is based in the Jurys Inn, in Stroudley Road, adjacent to Brighton Railway Station.

Hotel bosses said their aim was to reflect the eccentricity of Brighton and Hove with an “eclectic mix of convenience and quirkiness, comfort and charm - just like a pair of odd socks.”

The staff, of course, will all be wearing odd socks.

The restaurant will serve what is described as a “light and late breakfast” menu which will be available between 7am and 12midday.

The menu will feature everything from classic breakfast butties to slightly more indulgent brioche sweet French toast.

Between 12midday and 10pm Oddsocks will serve a range of bar snacks all under £5, light bites and sharing platters.

There will also be deli sandwiches and salad bowls.

The day menu features a range of traditional main course options including what Jurys Inn has described as the signature rotisserie chicken dish – served in a roasting tin with all the trimmings, gravy and a choice of flavoured rubs.

For those with a sweet tooth, there is the Brighton Seaside Sundae made with vanilla ice cream, toffee sauce, toffee popcorn and a piece of Brighton rock.

From 12midday Oddsocks will also sell a range of bottles beers including the locally brewed Shepard Neame.

There will also be a selection of wines and cocktails.

Gin lovers can enjoy a tipple from the city’s very first distillery, Brighton Gin.

The bar will be opened until 1.30am.
