A “SHOREDITCH inspired” cocktail bar will open in Brighton’s busy West Street.

Steinbeck & Shaw will launch on Friday, July 14 in the Odeon building alongside the PRYZM nightclub, which is owned by the same group.

Owners have described it as a Shoreditch-inspired bar - Shoreditch being the trendy area of east London - which will have a “stripped back, raw and contemporary feel”.

As well as specialising in cocktails, food will be served, with a focus on a stone-baked pizzas.

General manager Damian King added that the venue would be heavily stylised with original works of graffiti art, skull imagery and modern sculptures.

The venue will also feature a separate bar called Lua Lalai.

Mr King said it would be bright and fun with Polynesian décor and would create a “sunny, party mood”.

The bars are being opened by The Deltic Group, the UK’s largest operator of bars and clubs,

Mr King said the opening will create 20 new full-time and part-time positions.

He said: “Steinbeck & Shaw promises to be a great addition to Brighton’s buzzing bar scene.

“We will be offering the very best handmade cocktails, a range of craft ales and premium spirits, with table service, so there’s no more queuing or standing around.

“The bar will open daily from 5pm, so will be a great place to meet with friends for a drink and bite to eat after work.

“Lua Lalai is a fun addition to the Brighton bar scene and we’re sure the extensive cocktail menu will be a bit hit with our customers.”

Mr King said he is looking for employees including barmen and women and VIP staff.

He said: “At Steinbeck & Shaw it’s all about the experience and we want talented people to deliver the experience. As part of our service philosophy, we’re looking for people to join our team that have a real passion for customer service and entertainment.”

Steinbeck & Shaw will open at 5pm on July 14 with a special VIP launch.
