Knife wielding men attempted to rob a Securicor van in Hove last week, and escaped in a red Mondeo van.
Police were called to the BP garage on the Aldrington Kingsway, at about 7am on Thursday, October 8, following a report that three men wielding knives attempted to rob a Securicor crew that was delivering to the ATMs. The attempt was unsuccessful and the men ran off. Nobody was injured.
A fourth man was waiting in a red Mondeo van, parked in St Leonards Gardens, Hove. The men fled in the getaway car and it was later found abandoned in Mansfield Road, Hove.
Police said that two of the suspects were described as white, and two as black. The two black males were described as both being 6ft tall and of medium build. One wore a black jacket and dark trousers and a dark baseball cap. Both are reported to have southern accents, and wore balaclavas or similar face covering.
