Hi everyone, my name’s Adam Muirhead and I am the Community Worker with Young People in Bevendean employed by an organisation called ‘The Trust for Developing Communities’.  It’s my job to help teenagers set up groups and put on activities for themselves.  Along with Polly Brooks, the Youth Activities Worker for Bevendean, we support ‘Bevendean Activities Group’, ‘The BevenTEEN Bulletin’ and ‘Bevendean Young Women’s Group’ and recently ‘The Big Dish Out’ too.
The first thing I need to update on is the Bevendean Young Women’s Group which usually runs between September and April each year but due to certain restrictions with resources has not yet started back.  Polly and I would like to say to the regular members that we’re really sorry that sessions haven’t been on but we would like to invite you to a planning session on Tuesday 4th December in the school (6-8pm) where we can have a good old catch up, play some games and sort out what happens after Christmas.
The other bit of big news is that the Bevendean Activities Group now has a ‘localgiving.com’ page which you can find at www.localgiving.com/bag’. At the moment they are GIVING AWAY MONEY to the community groups that are signed up so that any £10 donation automatically gets doubled (then gift aid is added on top!).  So, if you think the work of the BAG each summer is worthwhile please think about making a donation or simply sharing the page with friends via Facebook so they can see the great work the group of teens do.
Polly and I hope to catch up with lots of you around Christmas and wish you a very happy New Year!
