Village fête comes to Brighton city centre

A traditional British fête with a contemporary twist comes to the Old Steine for this year's White Night Festival.

Home Live Art is organising the event which delves into the darker side of folk and starts at 6pm on Saturday, October 29.

Home Live Art director Mimi Banks, said: “It is something entertaining, exciting, faintly anarchic, innovative and different enough to feel like you're taking part in something unique.

“The fête offers a contemporary slant on British tradition of make do and mend, baking, vintage retro aesthetic, traditional music, communal dancing, games and more.”

Attractions at the alternative fête include swing dancing, vintage glamour makeovers to pop video routines, fun sports and everything in between.
